Ireneusz Miraś, a graduate of the History Department of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków is the founder of Genopolis. He has been involved in genealogy since the end of the 1990s, and is a member of Association of Professional Genealogists, Polskie Towarzystwo Genealogiczne (Polish Genealogical Society), Małopolskie Towarzystwo Genealogiczne (Małopolska Province Genealogical Society), Radomskie Towarzystwo Naukowe (Radom Scientific Society) and Stowarzyszenie Przyjaciół Garbatki (The Friends of "Garbatka" Society). Ireneusz Miraś actively participates in internet genealogical forums.

Among his interests, apart from Polish genealogy, are the history of Poland from the Middle Ages all the way to the 20th century, and especially the past of the Małopolska Province in its broadly understood, pre-partitions borders with Kraków, Sandomierz, Lublin, Radom, Kielce, Częstochowa and Tarnów. The broad knowledge that the company has access to, combined with the extensive library resources on the subject of the population of towns and villages that we have at our disposal, has had a considerable impact on the success rate of our genealogical research.

Genopolis does not limit its research to Małopolska but embraces the entire pre-partitions area of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which since the end of the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century had been within the borders of the Austrian (Galicia), Russian and Prussian Partitions.
